Write a reflective essay weaving 3 artifacts together to paint a picture about how your knowledge of students impacts the decisions you make in the classroom. E-mail your completed essay to Stone by Oct. 30.

Your reflective essay will address the criteria listed above under Standards 3 and 4. Suggested points to include in your essay:

Describe, using your artifacts, how you use knowledge of

student developmental needs,

student interest,

student prior knowledge, and

student backgrounds

to plan for instruction.

Helpful hints:

try to choose quite different artifacts to illustrate that you are using a variety of information in planning for instruction.
You may use artifacts that you gathered as part of your Sept. 18 assignment.
Include your artifacts in sections 3 and 4 of your portfolio. Develop a logical system of identifying the individual artifacts so you can easily refer to them in your essay.
Include a brief description of each artifact as part of your essay.
Do not include the artifacts themselves in the text of your essay, but refer to them throughout the text of your essay.
